Why join?
To re-connect with and re-inspire your mindfulness practice
To make space for deep rest and reflection
To disconnect from the busy doing-ness of everyday life.
To connect with community.
Session includes:
Group opening intention setting and closing integration session.
Mindful movement practices inspired by yoga and/or qigong (can be done in a chair).
Mindful walking
Seated stillness meditation practices
Safely held trauma sensitive space.
Spacious lunch break (bring your own) to rest or spend time outside.
Tasty vegan cake and tea silent eating break - cake and tea provided.
What does the silence involve?
We will slowly guide you into the session with a chance to ask questions and share at the beginning. During the middle of the session, we will be invited to let go of talking to each other and be in our own practice. I will be talking to guide you through the meditations though (like listening to a guided meditation but live) If you really do need to talk to us during the session you can of course pull one of us aside.
Why periods of silence?
Practicing in silence really allows us to cut out the everyday external noise so we can drop into the body, calm our nervous system and see our mental patterns more clearly.
Who is this for?
Those with some previous meditation practice such as:
You have attended a Mindfulness-Based Program (MBP) with a qualified instructor such as Finding Peace, MBSR, MBCT, MBCT-L…
OR
You have had a regular personal meditation practice for a period of 6 weeks or more in the past. Doesn't have to have been recently.
OR
You have attended silent meditation retreats in the past.
You don't need to meet all three of the above, just one to join.
This session just isn't suitable for complete beginners. If you aren't sure if the session is suitable for you please reach out.
Accessibility
All practices can be adapted for those with limited mobility. There will be options to sit in a chair for the movement. And you can either sit on the floor or a chair or lie down for the stiller meditations. There is parking right outside the venue and there are disabled loos. However, there is a flight of stairs up to the studio.
