Introducing Mindfulness Afternoon

Sunday 10th May, 1:30-4:30pm
The Core, St. Ives Community Orchard

A chance to join together and be introduced to Mindfulness Meditation. This 3-hour workshop will include mindful movement and stillness meditations to rest, reflect and start your mindfulness journey as a community.

  • Mindfulness myth-busting- get a flavour of what Mindfulness really is.

  • To create space for slowing down and reflection.

  • To disconnect from the busy doing-ness of everyday life. 

  • To connect with community.

Session includes: 

  • Seated (floor or chair) stillness meditation practices.

  • Mindful movement practices inspired by yoga and/or qigong (seated or standing)

  • Group discussion (speaking optional)

  • Safely held trauma sensitive space.

Who is this for? 

  • Complete beginners.

  • Those wishing to return to or refresh their basic understanding after some time away from practice.

All practices can be adapted for those with limited mobility. There will be options to sit in a chair for the movement. And you can either sit on the floor or a chair or lie down for the stiller meditations.
